First meet with Forest department

Recently spoke to Forest Department officer about our plan and he was delighted with our initiative, he said he will be able to assist if we come up with a proper project plan and he provided following useful information.

Dept. will be able to provide the samplings as many we ask for anywhere in Karnataka but they will not be able to provide any assistance in funds/money as some NGOs miss used it, well that still fits in our plan.
We need to prepare a project plan which will compose of
  1. How many trees we are going to plant and how do we maintain them
  2. Source of funds
  3. How watering arrangement are done
  4. How maintenance is planned, will u have a hired person to take care of the plants?
  5. Planting should follow their instructions
Hole should be dug for one meter
Support stick should be provided for the plant
Surround protection should be provided for the plant to protect from animals
  6. Three years maintenance plan needs to be produced
As per their estimate Rs. 150 required per plant for the 3 year span of maintenance and they will provide the samplings only in the month of rainy seasons from June to October.

He also cautioned about challenges we are going to face when we implement this kind of program also he told us that it is achievable if we have committed people and have the proper plan and wished us all the best.

Next step for us is to register as NGO and in parallel working on the Project Plan.

Need helping hands to achieve this.

Thanks,
Prasanna.
